Guidelines to Ensure Your Safety
We want your stay at our cabins near Buffalo River to be seamless. Because of this, we've put together a few simple policies that help make sure everything continues to run smoothly. Please take a moment to look over them before your visit, and if you have any questions or concerns, we're always happy to help.
LODGING POLICIES
Bear Creek Log Cabins is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is both important and special to us.
In order to keep our rates low, we only accept Cash, Checks, or money orders.
If you booked online, your Credit Card is used ONLY to hold your reservation until your Deposit check arrives.
We require you to mail us at least a $150 Deposit and half balance due payment if it is less than 30 days prior to check-in, via Check or Money Order within 24 hours. If it is more than 30 days prior we must receive at least your Deposit within 7 days to confirm your reservation. Please make checks or money orders payable to Bear Creek Log Cabins. Mail to 6403 N Highway 65 St. Joe, AR 72675. PLEASE WRITE CABIN NAME AND RESERVED DATES ON MEMO PORTION.
We will contact you to confirm your reservation as soon as your Deposit Check arrives in the mail.
If your arrival date is less than 5 days out, we may waive the need to send in a deposit.
Beginning 2019-Please remit half payment 30 days prior to check in. You may pay remaining balance at check in. If you book your reservation with less than 30 days prior to check in please call to make arrangements about payment.
In the event travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 30 (thirty) days* prior to your booked arrival date to cancel.
Please understand, if you must cancel all or part of your stay with less than thirty (30) days* notice, you will forfeit your $150 deposit. If you cancel before thirty (30) days of your reservation, we can apply your deposit to a future stay - as long as it occurs within the same calendar year or refund your deposit. ***Special exception: During winter-If roads are treacherous and you can not physically get here because of it; we will move your deposit to another date.
Refund policy for 1/2 payment made if cancellation is made:
30 to 20 days prior to reservation (not counting $150 deposit) 100% refund
19 to 10 days prior to reservation (not counting $150 deposit) 75% refund
9 to 7 days prior to reservation (not counting $150 deposit) 50% refund
6 days prior to reservation -No refund.
Children aged 6 and under stay for FREE
Up to two well behaved and well groomed pets are welcome per visit; for $15 per pet, per night plus tax. Please tell us about pets when you make your reservation. If you plan to be away from your pet unsupervised, please crate them so they do not become anxious. Please CONTINUE TO GROOM while visiting. You are responsible for damages made.

Must read, sign, and fill out release form-by signing release you are also AGREEING to the "check-in and check -out" criteria,
NOT DOING SO COULD RESULT IN ADDITIONAL FEES.
Must read, comply, sign, and fill out Release of Liability form.
The previous guests washed and put away dishes, but according to hospitality industry experts it is recommended you rewash them before use.
We have done our best to clean and disinfect all surfaces using EPA approved cleaning products for your stay. Hepa filters are in place in units.
*Please do not drag items across our hardwood floors.
*No Smoking inside; however designated outdoor smoking areas are available, please dispose of trash appropriately.
DO NOT use ash can for this purpose or throw butts in yard!!!
*Use trivets and coasters on tables.
*Use oil cookers in yard only NOT on decks.
*No metal utensils used on non-stick cookware.
*Stay on trails, DO NOT make new trails. (There is NO trail coming from the backyard down the hill from the Turney Homestead)
*Children under 16 years old will wear helmets while riding
*When cleaning fish, at the Lake House please dispose of remains down by the dyke/levee, in the water for fish and pond dwellers to eat.
*At Farm House Cabin; take care of pucks and shuffleboard table so that damage is not done. Use wax sparingly. Replace all game pieces.
CHECK-OUT:
Before 10:30.
REQUIREMENTS:
Please place all groups of used items in SEPARATE provided bags:
*all used sheets and pillowcases in one bag.
*all used quilts (quilts may take two bags)
*all used white towels in white bag
*all used colored towels from kitchen and bath and bathroom rugs in white bag
(*Do not remove mattress pads or zippered pillow covers unless they have become wet or soiled)
Tie loosely and place by the entry way.
*Crack window no more than 1 inch(ones with screens preferably) and leave air/heat running.
*Unplug coffee maker
*Leave television/satellite in working order as you found it when you arrived.
(return connections, if you disconnected)
*Return furniture or grill to prior position at check in.
*Wash dishes and put them away.
*Bag all trash and bring to office dumpster. (exception: Lake House should please bring over if possible; otherwise bag in to manageable sized bags and be sure it is in a enclosed large trash can with lid on the deck so that animals cannot get into it easily)
*Lock all doors and leave key under the mat.
* Dump and wash out ice-maker in basement at Farm House
*Please follow up with staff concerning illness after recent departure.

THINGS WE PROVIDE/THINGS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
We now have washer/dryer units at all cabins except the Turney Homestead.
To make your stay easier, we provide at least 2 -39 gallon trash bags. 1-13 gallon trash bag, bathroom bags, (*Please do not use bags that we provided for your linens, if you need more trash bags you will need to bring some) We provide one toilet tissue per floor, small bar soap, coffee filters, Roll of paper towels, a small bottle of Dawn Dish Soap, clean linens for each cabin.
We will not be providing throws or extra blankets. You may bring your own.
You will need to bring creek/river towels-we only provide showering towels.
We provide a small shaker of wax for the shuffle board table at the Farm House-please use sparingly and leave wax on table.
You will need charcoal, starter, matches or lighter for grill or fire pit. We usually have some wood/kindling at cabins for fireplace/campfire. If it is not there, we will let you know where to locate some.
You might want to bring slippers/house shoes.
These are housekeeping cabins; we do NOT offer maid service.
Extra towels are available at the office, call ahead.
